Why I should have such a visceral response to this image is beyond me but it's just a very powerful feeling...as if there is a story here of loss, imprisonment, suffering. An entire scenario popped into my mind - that makes this a remarkable work of art. The light, the texture, the dramatic splash of red...all so moving. F/V

Dale Stillman replied:

Lianne, thanks so much for this wonderful comment. I truly appreciate it.

About Dale Stillman

Dale Stillman

I have always had a strong love of the arts. For many years I tried Oil and Watercolor painting but never felt that the results matched my vision. Photography was 1st introduced to me by my parents when I was about 7 years of age. At times I would get in trouble because I wanted to use the film for scenic pictures rather than relatives. This love of photography gave me the opportunity to take many pictures while serving in the Army in Korea during the mid 50's. Now being retired, my wife and I travel the Northwest on short photo junkets. Thanks for stopping by and viewing my pictures.
