Description
This was painted after visiting the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho Mission. There is a musium that conveys the early activity between the Catholic Priests and the Indians that occupied that area. What a wonderful history is on display here.

Why I should have such a visceral response to this image is beyond me but it's just a very powerful feeling...as if there is a story here of loss, imprisonment, suffering. An entire scenario popped into my mind - that makes this a remarkable work of art. The light, the texture, the dramatic splash of red...all so moving. F/V
