Description
During the mid 1800's the Indians who lived in the Northwest were visited by a priest named Pierre Jean De Smet who traveled from Belgium. As a result of his work with the tribes of the Northwest this Mission was built. During the years it has had it's structure reworked however, as of today, there is no heat in the building. This fact however, does not impact the fact that this continues to be a favorite place for weddings and an occassional service. If you ever have the opportunity to visit this mission, I am sure you will find your visit very rewarding. Plan on spending at least 3 hours there as this will allow you the time to watch a short movie and visit a musium which covers much of the impressions of the indian tribes that have been involved in this historical event. Thank you for stopping by and viewing the photo and reading this short piece on the Old Mission.
